Daddy Steals us Away for an Anniversary Trip

Wednesday evening 11 pm Daddy tells me we are leaving at 9:30 am Thursday and that we are going to Negril, Jamaica.  After panic left me I was so excited.  The trip was great.  Luke had a blast. It was all-inclusive so I had my fair share of RUM RUNNERS.  The beach was sandy white and the water was the such a pretty shade of blue.  Of course nothing was a PROBLEM Mon'!  We returned Sunday afternoon to reality.  It was a great get away.  I can't think of a better place to have gone.  The only thing missing was our Maran!
Daddy and Luke SNOOZE on the flight.  Mommy was bad and helped the flight attendant by consuming "MOMMY JUICE"....aka VINO!

The view from our Villa.  This picture does it no justice!

Our 20th Anniversary!!

Today is our 20th Anniversary!  Hard to believe that we have been married ALMOST half of our lives!  When we woke up this morning I showed Luke our wedding picture.  He said "MOMMY, YOU WERE A BABY"!! His eyes were as big as saucers and he was grinning from ear-to-ear.  I asked him if he liked my dress and he said "Yes mam".  How cute.  Twenty years later I still like my dress.  The Cathedral length train plus 6  additional feet was quite spectacular I must say.  It truly was the dress that my mother fell in love with.  I asked Luke if Maran was going to wear my wedding dress and he said "No mommy....Maran will have her own dress".  Well, OK!

Our Snickerdoodle's FIRST REAL BOUT OF JEALOUSY

OK so we have hit the mark.  We have received our I-800 approval  which means we now are waiting for Maran's Visa to be approved.  Daddy and I were talking about how we can now put the MARAN MICKEY on the car....for some reason we didn't feel comfy about putting it on before we got to a certain point in the process.  SO NOW WE ARE THERE... which also means that  I HAVE TO START ON HER ROOM!  FOR REAL!!!  I always have to have a fire under my you know what to get anything done.   I love procrastinators because I am one of them.  BLESS US ALL.  OK so what does that mean?  Next week... I will start cleaning out my "OVER-FLOW" closet (which is Maran's room).  Wow.... oh wow... now what do I do with all the stuff?  Perhaps get rid of it?  No, that is not a possible option I am sure....... With Love and Hugs.......

"Mommy the dog has a Runny Nose"

We woke up this morning and I noticed that Luke was not as 'WHINEY" as what he has been lately.  Let's start this off right... I DISLIKE WHINING WITH A PASSION.  I don't like it when Luke does it and I won't get started on adults who do it.  I do not tolerate Luke's whining but I am more tolerant of his whining over an adults. That being said I tidied up the house last night.  I vacuumed the couch to get our PERFECT DOG "ABBEY's" fur off of it and Febreezed it so it would smell less like dog.  (Abbey went to the Dry Cleaners on Friday so she is smelling pretty good right now).  I keep the pillows pulled down in order to prevent her from jumping on the couch.  This jumping on the couch is a new thing that has set in for her during her aging years.  She is 9.  She has been the perfect dog but I will save that for my "ODE TO ABBEY".  Luke is hugging and kissing on her and then says "Oh Abbey, stay right there".  He runs to get a Kleenex.  I can't imagine what he is doing but he comes back and looks at me and tells me that "SHE HAS A RUNNY NOSE".  So he wipes her nose and then says 'YICK... it is all wet".  He then gets another kleenex and continues to wipe.  He then pets her on the head and says "You will feel better later pretty girl".  Defiinitely a cam-corder moment but of course I was lucky to get a semi-ok I phone pix.  Can he just stay this cute all the time? Wishful thinking.

Luke wants to Be a Baby Again...

Luke said to me this morning "Mommy when I wake up tomorrow I want to be a baby again so I can sleep in your bed".  I told him that we couldn't do the Benjamin Button thing but it was a neat concept.  He said "Oh yes we can".  (Mind you he doesn't have a clue about Benjamin Button).  We talk a little more and I explain to him that while at my office I had to get some things done but if he is patient and good then I will get them done faster so we can then play.  He promises that he will be good, not run around, eat his breakfast and leave  with no whining issues when we need to.  So after our little pep talk I say "OK, Luke let's do it".  He then says --"Mommy, I am Benjamin not Luke and I will wake up in your bed tomorrow as a baby".  OK well so much for that.

Mommy "It's Hard to Share"

Luke got into the car after day camp and said to me "I played so hard today mommy and it was fun and I didn't want to share the choo choo because it is just too hard to share when it is a train".  It was the cutest run on sentence.  His arms were gestering everywhere and his chocolate eyes were just huge.  Wouldn't you like to have days where the most cumbersome thing you had to do was "SHARE"?  Life through the eyes of a toddler and it's innocence is amazing.  Makes me wonder the cute things I hope I said when I was little.  The one thing I know I said was to our dear neighbor.  We went into her house and I looked around and I said to her "You haven't cleaned your house today Ms. Royal".  My mother was not happy needless to say.  Her house was not dirty or messy.  Not sure why I said it.  Ms. Royal was the first neighbor to hold me when I came home from the hospital.  I last saw her at my mother's funeral.   They moved out of our neighborhood many years ago.  At the funeral I hugged her and asked her if she had "Cleaned her house today".
