Snickerdoodle Luke Rolls on into 2011!

 Awww.... MAN !!
The Windy Thing was Super Loud and Really Cool.
Luke got a little bit spooked at the Japanese Steak House.  Then he decided it was pretty cool.
uhm... YUMMY!

Happy New Year from Snickerdoodle Luke who has been asleep since 9 pm.  New Year's is not a huge event around our house due to many reasons.  That said we had a 5 pm dinner reservation at the Japanese Steak House.  Luke shyed away at first but then was fine with it.  Funny that two years ago he loved it.  It's OK to change your mind I guess.  Luke is still 'adjusting' to his new sister.  He has good days and bad days and today was a good minute bad minute one.  It didn't help that we were taking down Christmas Decorations which meant that the blow up Thomas in the front yard is now put away.  He also didn't like that the Christmas tree and the train which was around it is now put away.  When your life revolves around trains it is tough to see one be put away whether it is blow up or a real steam engine.

Happy New Year!  May you find many blessings as you chug along in 2011.  Safe travels!

Snickerdoodle's Favorite Christmas Gift

Out of it all this is his favorite.  So it goes back to the old saying "they will play with the box and the wrapper more than the gift".  As well as the cheapest gift often far outweighs and is more precious than the pricey one.   Also, I believe that I have a boy whose way to his heart is through his tummy.
I'm not so sure that I would choose the chips over the learner bikes and big ATV's but what do I know?

Snickerdoodle had a GREAT Christmas.  I think the most fun for him was being with his cousins.  He absolutely adores every one of them.  He loves being the center of their worlds and when he is around they make him the center. There are MANY GOOD THINGS from being the babies of the family like David and I are and to have waited so late in life to have children.  We have instant babysitters and furthermore babysitters who think that our kids are pretty neat.  What a blessing to be surrounded by those who love children and play with them as if he is just 'one of the gang'.  Maran fits right in as well and she is such a trooper.  She, too, is the center of her cousins worlds and this has made the transition so much easier.  Family is the BIGGEST BLESSING of all!

Luke asks "WHY DO I HAVE A LITTLE SISTER?"

Luke woke up this morning and asked why he has a little sister.  I told him that I thought he would like one so he would have someone to play with and go through life with. I also reminded him that he asked for one and then I asked him if he wanted a little brother and he quickly said "YES".  I told him to get along with his sister and learn to share with her and we would think about a little brother.  It took him no time at all to tell me the following:

 "I didn't need what I got so therefore I don't think I need another".

Excuse me?  So he got this from me the other night at dinner when I was asked if I wanted another piece of bread so I said the above.  CLEVER? SCARY?  I just wonder what other words and phrases he is going to remember and what more of an opportune time to remember such things than the holidays when LOTS of family is around!

Santa has Sent a PERSONAL ELF to our House

Hi, I'm Snickerdoodle Luke and you can see from my picture above (Yes the one that is 'chugging on by') that I look like I have a little mischief in me.  Well, Santa got tired of texting my daddy about my recent behavior so when I woke up yesterday Santa had sent an ELF to our house.  He was found at my last 'scene of the crime'.  Meaning he was at the last spot in which I was bad before I had to go to bed last night.  This elf is kind of neat. He is magic just like Santa and Christmas.  He moved from the window seal (near the Christmas tree where I slammed my Thomas the Train) to my room where I wasn't sharing my I Pod with my sister Maran.  (She arrived recently from China and I am not too thrilled about it to be quite honest).  When we went to get in the car this morning there he was -- sitting in the seat pocked below the DVD player.  When we got out of the car at the bagel shop I noticed that he had jumped into the side pocket of my mom's backpack.  Daddy said that the elf moved around quickly and he sure does.  He is watching me to make sure that I am a better little boy.  So far his presence has not changed me a bit.  Shortly after arriving in the bagel shop we had to leave because I was extremely unruly.  We left without my mom and dad getting their diet cokes.  This NEVER happens so that should tell you how truly bad I was.  I have spent more time in time out today than I have playing or doing anything else for that matter.  Since I am sitting in a chair I noticed one thing....the elf is right above my head watching me.  I think that I better start being a 'better brother' because this elf is always where I end up'.  It's hard to be a big brother.  It's even harder to be a big brother who shares and does so willingly.  Sharing was MUCH EASIER before Maran arrived because I had no one to share with at my house so it was not an issue.  This Elf may just make my life a little tougher.  Isn't adjusting to the arrival of a new little sister enough?  What does a Snickerdoodle have to do to get a break around here?

Good Riddance to a Week of DISASTER

It is with great happiness that I bode the past week farewell.  It was a week of craziness, chaos, disaster, thanklessness, selfishness and many more things.  Have you ever tired to make good out of something bad?  Well, I spent the better part of the week trying to do just that and boy I am worse for the wear.  So goodbye to last week.  I hope that NO PART of you returns.  For those who found some kind words and know of the events I thank you dearly.  It is nice to know that your friends can pull you away from even the largest of disasters even if they can not make it all go away.  Sorry but this blog entry is about ME.  One day I will get my blog going....it will be called "MY WARPED CHILDHOOD"....oh and I have to say... it was incredibly warped to say the least.  Keep on Chugging and smile even when it seems the world wants to spit on you!!  I can't wait for the Christmas Party tonight.  I know it will be fun and a much needed relief.  Happy Hanukkah to my many dear friends who celebrate this holiday and a good HOLIDAY Saturday evening to those who are celebrating the Christmas Holiday Season!

Luke Says......

I was trying on pants and Luke comes in the bathroom.  I have a big stack of them in one pile and as I keep trying them on Luke says "Mommy, why are your pants so big"?.  I pause for a second (which is something I NEVER do as my mouth is ALWAYS in gear way too fast) and say, "Well, mommy has dropped some pounds and my pants are too big".  Luke kind of cocks his head to the side like a little puppy dog and I could tell he didn't understand and replies "Don't worry mommy, you will grow into them".  I didn't have the heart to attempt to explain to him that we WANT him to grow into his clothes that are too big and that it is a GOOD thing for him to do so ......but not so much for mommy to grow into hers (or back into them for that matter).  We will save this learning experience for another day.  Weight loss and gain is too much for a four year old VERY SLENDER little boy who hopefully will NEVER have weight issues!  Innocence sure is cute.

Have a CHUGGING Day.....
