Watching Maran get SICK...NOT A GOOD DAY

We try to keep the subject of 'YAK' far away from Snickerdoodle as he has never gotten sick before and we hope to keep it that way (for as long as humanly possible that is). Meaning he has never thrown up.  Today he got to experience what I believe to be his first experience of seeing this occur.  Unfortunately Maran got sick and he was front and center for the show.  He fared WELL according to Daddy but was so confused and concerned as to what it was.  I HOPE he doesn't get this bug!  He will NOT take kindly to getting sick like that.  A sore throat is bad enough in his world!  Praying for healthy kiddos.......

Mr. Snickerdoodle gets Sick.....

Oh to error on the side of caution is so much better than feeling like a bad mom because you discount a kid telling you that he feels bad and send him to playschool anyway.  That said mommy messed up this morning.  Should have known since Snickerdoodle was up about 25 times last night.  After pottying this morning I thought his tummy ache had gone away.  Besides since Aunt Peggy has had her colon cancer surgery his tummy aches seem to coincide with hers.  He saw her yesterday and he knew she was on her way to the Dr. so I kind of thought it stemmed from that.  He has never been one to fake a sickness (not yet at least) so I should have added all the signs up.

Nasty strep throat got him.  Turns out there are 6 of the 15 class members out sick.  In our area a nasty tummy bug is indeed going around and if you don't have the honor of having that then you have strep.

So I go hurrying back to school and find him looking like he was half dead.  We rush to the Dr. and she confirms what I already knew.  The Dr. even checked me to make sure I don't have it ----I don't, YET

Here we go again.. Maran is on her last two days of antibiotics and Luke is just now starting a ten day supply.  Is it good that I leave again on Friday?  NO.... at least he is only contagious until tomorrow....some things work out OK!

Finger Nails CUT without a Scream!

If you had ever told me this day would come I would have cried at the sheer thought of it.  Tonight I cut my nails and Luke asked why.  I explained to him that my nails don't grow long but I like them short in the winter because they get so dry and crack and peel (Yes, TMI)...... so he told me that he wanted his nails cut. Really? Do you have a fever? This is the kid who cries and screams at the thought of his nails being cut.  It's like he is having a limb cut off.  In Luke's world fingernails being cut ranks up their in discomfort and pain like hair cuts do.  He stands beside the bed and let's me cut them.  What an experience... cutting his nails while he is not asleep or napping. I kind of liked it.  He claimed it tickled.  OK I will take that!

Tumbling Class Is Great

Mr. Snickerdoodle Luke is loving his GYM BEES Tumbling Class and is doing quite well.  He will participate in it... Maran (that's a different story).  She watches from the side line.  Luke flipped over the uneven bars like he had been doing it for years.... Is there a gymnast in the family or a class clown in the making?  The later I am sure.  He will be our soccer star!
